About

Mitchell Clifford is a animatronic and sculptural artist with a background in Electrical Engineering. Through his work, Mitchell strives to incorporate a variety of mediums with technology in order to create engaging narratives. Many of his pieces look to juxtapose conflicting narratives in order to attempt to find truth. Otherwise, he’s recreating nostalgic animatronic characters from VHS classics he rented as a child.

In addition, he has had the honor of working on many projects from Cincinnati, Ohio to New York City. He has lent his professional experience in electrical engineering and mechanical design to artists such as Mel Chin and Fernando Orellana on their animatronic sculptors “Wake” and Fernando Orellana on his animatronic sculpture “Voices”. Currently, he is assisting Intermedio in modular and adaptive circuit design.

Mitchell was born in Cincinnati, OH in 1995 and received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York.
